Cityvend was born from a desire to assist a friend's family during a tough time. Their father's deportation had left them without their main income source. His mother had to take on multiple jobs and sell tamales and champurrado in the early morning to make ends meet. Growing up in a low-income neighborhood, I saw the need to help my friend and others like him. Many people, including my friend's mother, start small businesses to support their loved ones. As a first-generation student, I realized that my education is a valuable resource to share. Cityvend is my way of helping people start small businesses without the traditional financial burdens. I aim to educate both current and future generations on accessible ways to start and expand their businesses.
I grew up in the City of Watts, that's where learned the importance of hard work and education. I've been working in construction since the age of 13 and pursuing my education at the same time. I went to Rio Hondo community college and that where the idea for my business started and learned the basic of software development. Transferred to Biola University majored in Business and won 1st place for startup competition and continue to pursue my passion of turning my business into a service that will benefit the community.
