ABOUT US
OUR STORY
Cityvend was born out of a heartfelt desire to support a friend's family during a challenging period. After their father's deportation left them without their primary source of income, his mother took on multiple jobs. She started selling tamales and champurrado early in the morning to make ends meet. Growing up in a low-income neighborhood, I witnessed firsthand the struggles my friend and others like him face. It became clear to me that many people, including my friend's mother, start small businesses to support their loved ones.
As a first-generation student, I understood the value of education as a powerful tool to be shared. Cityvend represents my commitment to helping individuals start small businesses without the traditional financial burdens. I aim to provide education and resources to current and future generations, empowering them with accessible means to initiate and grow their ventures.
OUR FOUNDER
Growing up in Watts, Los Angeles, CA, I gained a deep appreciation for the values of hard work and education. I began working in construction at the age of 13 while striving for academic advancement. It was during my time at Rio Hondo Community College that the seed of my business idea was planted. There, I delved into the fundamentals of software development.
My educational journey then led me to Biola University, where I pursued a degree in Business. It was at Biola that I not only honed my business skills but also achieved first place in a startup competition. This victory further fueled my determination to transform my business concept into a valuable service for the community.
I remain committed to realizing my vision and leveraging my skills and experiences to benefit those around me.
